Brandeis University is a well respected institution with an active campus comprised of more than 4,000 undergraduates and graduates. Beacon Piping was consulted by the institution because of our history of performance, quality work and familiarity with Brandeis' campus. The project involved the replacement of the underground steam distribution system on the Waltham Campus. Work included replacing the existing direct buried system as well as rebuilding new vaults.
The project needed to be completed during the summer months to avoid heavy student influx as the school year commenced in the fall. Therefore, time sensitive schedules had to be met, safety standards needed to be implemented, and the working area needed to stay clean and noise restricted. Beacon Piping had to perform this project without disruption to the active summer student body. It was necessary to be flexible and sensitive to campus activity.
This project was successful due to careful planning and coordination with the College staff during the installations.
