Ocean Spray is well known to North Americans as the leading producer of cranberries, and canned and bottled juices and drinks. Beacon Piping was selected to relocate and remove piping for future expansion of the fruit receiving station for the product Craisins®. Craisins® are the sweetened dried cranberries that are packaged at the corporate headquarters located in Lakeville-Middleboro, Massachusetts.
The project involved relocating many piping systems for the Craisins® production. The steam line conveyor belt moves the product into one deposit area and removes the stems from the cranberries. There is a series of production stages that takes the cranberry from raw fruit to dried fruit, and then the cranberry is infused with a sweetener resulting in a product which is similar to a raisin. Walls and equipment were removed in order to add an additional conveying system and enclose additional production.
Beacon Piping's expansion work was planned around construction activity and client needs to accommodate design plans. The project was a success because we provided energetic leadership and skilled mechanics.
